Happy Birthday Paul Heffernan

Today sees Paul's 35th Birthday. Paul was "Young Player of the Year" in season 2002/03 scoring 10 goals from 25 matches. Despite beginning the season on the bench behind Clive Platt and Mark Stallard, Paul went on to score 20 league goals. He scored a hat-trick against Q.P.R in a 3-3 draw on Boxing Day and four goals against Stockport in a 4-1 win on the 21st February. Paul was out of contract at the end of the season and expressed his desire to leave so was dropped for the last two games, but he signed off scoring twice for the reserves in a 3-2 victory at Hartlepool. He finished his Notts career scoring 36 goals from 100 league appearances 26 of which were as substitute.
