REMEMBERING JIMMY SIRREL

The committee of the Former Players’ Association agreed that the occasion should be marked, and Jimmy remembered, by flowers being placed on the statue in Meadow Lane, just outside the ground where he achieved so many notable successes. The flowers, in green and white, were chosen to represent Celtic, the club where Jimmy began his footballing career as a player in 1946, and Notts County, who he joined as manager in November, 1969 - 49 years ago this year.
