Former Notts Player Ron Wylie passes away.

We are saddened to learn that former Notts player Ron Wylie has passed away, Ron started his career with a Scottish schoolboy cap, and was discovered by the Magpies in the ranks with Clydesdale Juniors. Shrewd and slick, and a wonderful ball player despite his youth, he began his league career as a eighteen year old and in the final game of his debut season scored four goals in a 5-0 win against Birmingham City. A broken ankle, suffered at the beginning of the 1957/58 season kept him him sidelined for six months and was missed by Notts as they were relegated from Division Two. Returning to his brilliant best the following season he was signed by Aston Villa where he was voted "Midlands Foot
