REMEMBERING JIMMY SIRREL

https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news/2018/september/jimmy-sirrel-10-years/

It was ten years on Tuesday (25 September) since the death of Jimmy Sirrel, Notts County’s greatest ever manager, at the age of 86.

The committee of the Former Players’ Association agreed that the occasion should be marked, and Jimmy remembered, by flowers being placed on the statue in Meadow Lane, just outside the ground where he achieved so many notable successes.

The flowers, in green and white, were chosen to represent Celtic, the club where Jimmy began his footballing career as a player in 1946, and Notts County, who he joined as manager in November, 1969 - 49 years ago this year.

Our photograph, from left to right, shows Colin Slater (Association President), Brian Bates (Secretary) and Les Bradd (Treasurer) who carried out the ceremony which was recorded by members of the club’s media team for use on the website.

The trio laid flowers at his statue on Meadow Lane and paid tribute to the legendary manager in the video above.
