Several iconic former players will be descending on Meadow Lane when we host Torquay United on Saturday 28 August – a match dedicated to the late, great Jimmy Sirrel.
The 50th anniversary of Sirrel’s first Notts promotion passed last year and, now crowd restrictions have been lifted, we look forward to celebrating his incredible achievements and the indelible mark he left at the Lane. Led by all-time leading goalscorer Les Bradd, players including Barry Watling, Roy Brown, Bob Worthington, Don Masson, David Needham, Brian Stubbs and Steve Carter will all be in attendance as Ian Burchnall’s men kick off their 2021-22 home campaign against the Gulls. The players, who contributed to some of the most successful seasons in the club’s history, will pay a pre-match visit to the Broken Wheelbarrow before guests in our 1862 and Directors suites will be treated to a special interview with the group, who will also address the crowd via the PA system at half-time.
